Château
du Plessis
Description: Woods
Château du Plessis is surrounded by two acres of lawns with flower beds and ornamental trees. A small boat allows the intrepid to row on the pond. Carp, some over twenty years old, grab scraps of left over bread thrown into the pond.
Biscotte and Croquette, the resident Pygmy goats guard the entrance to the fifteen acre woods from their comfortable enclosure.
Three circular trails measuring almost one mile, meander through the woods. In the center, a drain ditch is crossed on one of four bridges. The center path runs diagonally across the woods to the gate at the enter of the village. Its stone arched bridge was built in the fifteen century.
From the gate at the woods' entrance, a ten minute walk leads to the village bakery where fresh bread and croissants await. Note: the real challenge is to get back to Le Plessis with a full load of croissants and pains au chocolat, some have been observed arriving empty handed and a full mouth and chocolate dribbling!
